Paris Olympics gymnastics updates: Suni Lee earns bronze on bars as apparatus finals continue

After Simone Biles and “Pommel Horse Guy” Stephen Nedoroscik collected more equipment for Team USA on the first day of the gymnastics equipment finals, Suni Lee contributed to the US medal haul with bronze in uneven fields.

Algeria’s Kaylia Nemour won gold with 15.700 points from a beautiful, near-perfect routine. China’s Qiu Qiyuan won silver, scoring 15.500 – a big improvement from her 15.066 score in qualifying.

Lee won bronze in the event for the second consecutive Olympics, competing in the final and posting a score of 14.800 from the rest of the competition in third place.

Also in today’s finals are the men’s rings and vault, for which no Americans qualified even though Team USA took the bronze medal in the team competition.
