Technology Powers Innovation with Justin Weller | LBBO online

Justin’s first job was when he was 10 years old because, like most 10-year-olds, he wanted enough money to buy parts for a gaming computer. This is where his love for all things technology began.

His professional career began with motion pictures, where he created great content and experiences for global brands such as Google, YouTube, Spotify and Mercedes. Later, he joined PwC Australia, combining his knowledge of motion graphics and development to explore the potential of Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR) as emerging tools for storytelling and communication.

“As technology evolves, so does the way we receive, interpret and interact with content. With AR/VR, we can achieve a new level of enhanced and immersive storytelling, ” said Justin.

During his time at PwC, Justin became a Global Subject Matter Expert on AR/VR and a creative technology expert, managing a white-label platform that empowered teams around the world. This experience led him to KOJO, a sports and experience center with a strategy-led offering. At KOJO, Justin worked with a variety of clients, including BMW, MINI, Cricket Australia, FIFA, adidas and the ICC, and progressed to the position of Head of Strategy and Digital, where research and collaboration were combined to drive insight. creativity.

Justin has a unique combination of technical expertise and zero-to-one product vision, consistently delivering groundbreaking solutions that have shaped AI and transformed industries worldwide.

Today, Justin’s skills have led him into the hands of Wellcom.

His new role as director of technology at Wellcom sees Justin join their executive team, where he will be leading Wellcom’s strategic growth and technology development.

He said: “There are many opportunities here (at Wellcom), “technology is fundamental throughout the company and has been since their humble beginnings. Tech has been powering their production services since the beginning. ”

“Each of our customers faces unique challenges and under Justin’s leadership, we aim to build on our existing technology expertise, with AI-driven systems thinking, as well as unique product and design principles and methods to improve the work we do for our customers,” says APAC CEO Andy Lumsden.

Justin went on to explain the emphasis placed on technology at Wellcom, and noted the amazing work being done by the leadership team to transform the business. According to Justin, Wellcom is really changing the line of combining innovation and production.

He said: “They have created a very good process that focuses on how technology can be adapted to all types of business.”

He noted that consumers are focused on efficiency and how to use their content effectively and long after it is initially released. His role as chief technology officer will not only focus on all aspects of how technology can be used, but how it can make the process faster for customers and creative teams.

The Wellcom team strongly considers the balance between creating human-centered designs and harnessing the power of AI.

Justin says that “using emerging technology is not one-size-fits-all. We will co-create with our clients and explore how AI algorithms and technology models can be trained based on our clients’ databases, leading to the best possible results. possible.

As AI becomes more prevalent in our lives, organizations must walk a fine line between tailoring experiences to people’s needs and understanding the realities and limitations of AI systems.

Justin considers strategies and practical methods to successfully balance this.

“Wellcom has destroyed the silos of innovation, production and technology. Now the organizational model offers a seamless integration of team and thinking, where all disciplines have a seat at the table”, says general manager Sydney, Marnie Darren.

The collaborative approach to developing AI-driven products, which emphasizes the importance of cross-team work, was the motivation for Justin to join the Wellcom team.

“I think when you start to weave design, production and technology together, you create an opportunity for broader pieces that aren’t just content, experimental pieces, and we’re immersing ourselves in the content. Asking if we can how to engage the audience to get them on board, to understand that message, to act because of the work,” he said.

It is clear to Justin that Wellcom, Marnie Darren and CD Oli Hammerton are included, investing in the right people to drive this change and ensure the business is at the forefront of technology and at the top of their game.

“Wellcom thrives in this ever-changing environment and I’m excited to leverage our capabilities and capabilities in the developing world and emerging trends to cement our position as a leader in this space,” he said so.
